The lithium-sulfur battery has garnered significant attention from both researchers and industry due to its exceptional energy density capacity. However, the conventional liquid electrolyte poses safety concerns low boiling point, hence, research on electrolytes gradually shifted towards solid electrolytes. polymer exhibits potential for packaging flexible batteries with high owing flexibility processability, but it also inherent disadvantages such as poor ionic conductivity, crystallinity, lack of active groups. This article critically examines recent literature explore two types electrolytes, namely gel electrolyte. It analyzes impact polymers formation lithium dendrites, addresses challenges posed by multiple interfaces, investigates underlying causes capacity decay in solid-state batteries. Clarifying current progress summarizing specific encountered polymer-based will significantly contribute development battery. Finally, prospects certain are examined, thereby facilitating commercialization
